The biennial event was organised by Asia-New Zealand Foundation, the Wellington City Council and The ASEAN Commission in Wellington (ACW), which includes six ASEAN countries: Viet Nam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

Mayor of Wellington, Justin Lester described the event as an occasion for New Zealand friends to understand more about the countries, people and cultures of ASEAN nations, enhancing the people-to-people exchange.

This year’s festival featured the participation of nine ASEAN countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.

ASEAN member states brought to the market special Southeast Asian dishes, traditional art performances, and non-stop entertainment.
