Viet Nam attends ITB Berlin 2018

(TITC) – From 7-11 March 2018, Vietnamese delegation led by Vice Chairman of Viet Nam National Administion of Tourism, Mr. Ha Van Sieu with the participation of over 40 representatives from localities and tourism enterprises attended the world’s leading travel trade show ITB Berlin 2018.

This year, Viet Nam’s booth at the ITB Berlin covered a biggest ever area of 500m2. The booth with mobile vendor carts evoked Viet Nam’s lively street culture, surrounding an elevated wooden structure reminiscent of Ha Noi’s iconic One Pillar Pagoda. 

In 5 days, beside commercial meetings, many activities were organized at the booth such as cuisine introduction, traditional art and land puppetry performances attracting a crowd of international visitors and media.

In the framework of ITB Berlin 2018, the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism held a press conference to update new policies and tourism products of Viet Nam. Also, the delegation had meetings with international partners namely TUI Group, ITB organization board, etc. to enhance mutual cooperation and promotion of Viet Nam tourism at ITB Berlin for the next years.

In 2017, Viet Nam received nearly 13 million international tourist arrivals, increasing approximately 30% compared with 2016, of which European markets contributed 14,6% of the total. Notably, there were 199,000 tourist arrivals from Germany to Viet Nam last year, representing a year-on-year growth of 13,6%.
