{mosimage}A cultural and sports festival of the Cham ethnic minority group began at the Bung Binh Thien tourist site in the Mekong delta province of An Giang on Nov. 12. The three-day festival, organised in the wake of the annual Ramadal fasting month, drew more than 20,000 domestic and foreign visitors.

On the first night of the festival, local Cham people launched 140 lanterns onto the Bung Binh Thien lake while local amateur artists performed traditional songs, dances and fashion shows.

Visitors to the festival also enjoyed gastronomic festivals and sport games.

This was the third time such a festival has been held in An Giang, which helped preserve the cultural identity of the Cham ethnic minority group, and boost cultural exchange between ethnic groups in the province.
