Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu meets Mayor of Mimasaka City (Japan)

(TITC) – On July 30, in Ha Noi, Vice Chairman of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu had a meeting with delegation of Japan’s Mimasaka City led by Mayor Seiji Hagiwara.

Sharing at the meeting, Mayor Seiji Hagiwara highlighted that Viet Nam has been becoming a favorite destination for Japanese visitors and the number of tourists has been increasing thanks to convenient connection between the two countries.

Mayor Seiji Hagiwara believed that with the efforts of the both sides in strengthening tourism cooperation, Mimasaka City would be able to lure more Vietnamese visitors.

Mayor of Mimasaka City added the city has potential of soccer, kendo and hot springs, particularly leisure tourism. He hoped to receive more visitors from Viet Nam on the occasion of upcoming sport events such as the World Kendo Championship in Mimasaka City and 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo which is expected to have the participation of Vietnamese sports delegation.

Speaking highly of the warm relationship between Viet Nam and Japan, Mayor Seiji Hagiwara informed Mimasaka is the first city of Japan to place a bronze statue of President Ho Chi Minh, which was presented by Viet Nam on July 21, 2017.

Welcoming the delegation from Mimasaka City to Viet Nam, Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu appreciated close cooperation between the two countries including tourism field. Vietnamese people love traditional culture, cuisines of Japan and wish to visit the country. He believed tourism would help bring people and cultures of Viet Nam and Japan closer.

Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu expressed his hope to tighten bilateral tourism cooperation and suggested that it is necessary to facilitate travel of visitors with favorable visa policies and boost tourism promotional activities.
