Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Press Award 2018

(TITC) – In the framework of the 14th International Travel Expo – Ho Chi Minh City (ITE-HCMC) 2018, on 7 September 2018, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Press Award Ceremony was organized by Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the provincial Association of Journalists.


This activity aimed at recognizing the contribution of tourism reporters and editors to tourism development of Ho Chi Minh City and Viet Nam as a whole.


After more than two months (from 21 June 2018 to 31 August 2018), the Tourism Press Award’s Organizing Committee received nearly 130 entries in the categories of print, electronic, photo reportage, radio and television by 20 press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City. The entries mentioned positive contributions and initiatives for tourism development; proposals for improvement of administrative procedures and policies, and tourism competitiveness of Ho Chi Minh City. Especially, they focused on important issues in the tourism industry such as tourism product development, linkage and cooperation, the role of tourism businesses, development of river tourism, ecotourism and agricultural tourism…


At the ceremony, 19 winners were honored, including: 2 First prizes, 3 Second prizes; 14 Third prizes and Encouragement prizes.


2 First prizes:


“Ho Chi Minh City aims at becoming a new hub for MICE in Southeast Asia”, in the category of radio – television, by Duc Toan - Thien Toan (Ho Chi Minh City Television);


“Development of river tourism in Sai Gon”, in the category of print and electronic newspaper, by Nguyen Van Nam (Viet Nam Tourism Newspaper).
