(TITC)-The Vinpearl Phu Quoc will host the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2019 due on 12th October.

Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2019 is the last one in a series of regional gala ceremonies of WTA Grand Tour to recognise excellence within each continent, after North America & the Caribbean (Jamaica), Middle East (Abu Dhabi, UAE), Africa & the Indian Ocean (Mauritius), Europe (Madeira, Portugal), Latin America (La Paz, Bolivia).

In 26th WTA, Viet Nam has nominees in more than 200 award catagories across three tiers of country, regional and world awards. According to Organization Board, Phu Quoc is a "miniature version" of Asia & Oceania tourism - a new destination of the world.

The pristine island of Phu Quoc is a hidden lush paradise off the southern coast of Viet Nam. Surrounded by the warm turquoise waters of the Gulf of Thailand, the island is renowned for its stunning beaches, unblemished habitat, relaxing atmosphere and world-class scuba diving.

This is the first time Viet Nam hosted the WTA Gala Awards of Asia and Oceania. The event is a great opportunity to promote Viet Nam tourism image in the eyes of international tourists as well as the world's leading tourism brands.

Vinpearl Convention Center Phu Quoc, set to host the event, features eight meeting rooms and a grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 2,390 guests. It enjoys a spectacular location on Bai Dai Beach, and adjacent to the luxury retreats Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort & Spa and VinOasis.

The winners will progress to the night of the World Travel Awards Grand Final in Muscat, Oman in November 2019.

WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.

Today, the WTA brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

Each year, WTA covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognise and celebrate individual and collective success within each key geographical region.

WTA gala ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities in the travel industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries and international print and broadcast media.
