French food and culture week in HCM City

The French consulate general in HCMC will collaborate with the Vatel Saigon Restaurant to host a French food and culture week from April 8 to 16.

The event will be hosted at the Vatel Saigon, 120bis Suong Nguyet Anh Street in District 1, with a French food exchange, photo exhibition of France by four Vietnamese photographers and a French singing contest.

The French food exchange week will take place from April 9 to 15, attracting many well-known chefs such as Patrick Berenger of the Vatel Saigon and Dedier Corlou of the Le Verticale Restaurant, Hanoi. They will demonstrate the unique features of French cuisine through a very attractive menu. Admission for the event is VND400,000 for lunch and VND700,000 for dinner.

Meanwhile, the photo exhibition ‘A glimpse of France’ will be hosted by the Lotus Gallery in HCMC, depicting landscapes in France by photographers Hoang The Nhiem, Nguyen Phuong, Le Quan and Le Bien. The show will take place on the second floor at the Vatel Saigon on April 8.

The singing contest is open to those who can sing a French song or a Vietnamese song translated into French. Three selected contestants from the qualifying round will join the final round at the Lounge Club Vatel Saigon then they will sing together with professional singers at Idecaf, 31 Thai Van Lung Street in District 1. The winner will win a trip to Paris for two worth VND100 million.
