The fourth Coconut Festival was launched in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre on April 7. 
Tourist sites nationwide attracted large numbers of visitors during the calendar New Year’s holiday (Jan 1st-4th, 2015), significantly contributing to the sector’s revenue.
I have been to the Mekong Delta provinces of Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Can Tho, An Giang and Ca Mau for numerous times during my business trips.
– According to Mekong Delta Tourism Association, in 2014, the region’s localities have actively invested in tourism development, contributing to attracting more international and domestic tourists.
The 4th Coconut Festival will be held from April 7 to 13 next year in Ben Tre to promote and showcase the province's as well as Viet Nam's coconut industry and products.
The Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre has put forth a number of measures to welcome 1 million tourists in 2014, in a bid to fulfill its tourism development goals by 2015.  
-To foster development of service and tourism sectors according to the tourism stimulus program 2013 of Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), People’s Committee of Ben Tre Province makes plan to implement specific activities to attract tourists to Ben Tre and stimulate their expenditure.
- Responding to the National Tourism Stimulus Program 2013, on 23rd May, Ben Tre’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism hold a conference on complementing tourism stimulus program.  
A project to develop a complex dedicated to the Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea was launched on January 17 in Thanh Hai commune, Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province.
The restoration and upgrade of the 100-year-old Huynh Phu mansion in the southern province of Ben Tre has started, with an estimated cost of US$1.7 million.   
The Mekong Delta is renowned for its floating markets which are typical of the Phung Hiep and Cai Be districts.
