A photography exhibition entitled “ASEAN People and Countries” commenced at the Hai Phong Fine Arts Centre on August 7, as part of the celebration to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN (1967-2017).

The Hoa Phuong Do (red flamboyant) Festival 2017 will be held in the northern port city of Hai Phong, from May 12-14. The theme of the festival this year is “Hai Phong vuon ra bien lon” (Hai Phong reaching out to the sea).

Do Son has been known as an ideal tourist site and played an important role in socio-economic development of Hai Phong City.
The Do Son District People’s Committee, Hai Phong City, recently announced its plan to boost local tourism.  
The northern port city of Hai Phong welcomed 1.32 million tourists in the first three months of 2017, a year-on-year rise of 6.17 percent.
Northern Hai Phong City kicked off a Viet Nam-Japan cultural exchange festival together with a cherry blossom exhibition on March 12 to introduce the locals to the beauty of Japan.
The northern coastal city of Hai Phong aims to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector, towards becoming a tourism centre of Viet Nam by 2030.
