Culture-sport-tourism festival of Khmer people opens in Kien Giang

The Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival of Khmer people in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang officially opened on November 11 in Go Quao town of Go Quao district.

A Ngo boat race (similar to the sport of dragon boating) took place on Long Binh river of the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh on November 21, part of the traditional Ooc Om Bok Festival of the Khmer people.
Officials of the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang have arranged a series of activities for local Khmer ethnic people to celebrate their traditional Sene Dolta festival.
“Ro bam” or “Rom Ro bam” is a classical dance-drama on the Khmer’s royal stage. Among the Khmer theatrical forms, Ro bam dance is considered the summit of artistic values.
An Giang is the land of native Vietnamese, Chinese, Khmer and Cham people living peacefully together for hundreds of years.
The Ok Om Bok Festival, a jubilant occasion with a range of traditional rituals and one of the three typical festivals of the Khmer people took place in southern Tra Vinh province on November 28.
