Viet Nam-Laos-China ‘con’ throwing festival takes place in Lai Chau

The third Viet Nam-Laos-China ‘con’ festival, themed “Colour of friendship”, kicked off in Muong Te district, the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau on December 29.

A ‘con’ (colourful fabric ball) throwing festival of border districts in Viet Nam, Laos and China is scheduled to take place in the northern province of Lai Chau on December 29-31, 2019, under the theme “Friendship Colours”.
The Sun Gate Group on November 16 inaugurated the first stage of Rong May Glass Bridge ecological tourism site, as part of Thac Trang (White Falls) tourism project, in Son Binh commune, Tam Duong district, the northwestern mountainous province of Lai Chau.
‘Ngo’(Corn) festival, also known as the “rainy season” festival, is the biggest traditional festival of the year for the Cong ethnic people in Lai Chau province.
To promote rural tourism, it is necessary to pay attention to community benefits and cultural and environmental protection, said Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue. 
Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has approved the organisation of a national seminar on tourism development in rural areas in line with building new-style rural areas.
Tam Duong market in in Lai Chau City is a typical mountain market. It’s not just a trading place but also a meeting venue of the Dao, Mong, Thai, Giay, and Lu ethnic minority people.
Sin Ho District in Lai Chau Province has attracted more tourists in recent years thanks to its unspoiled nature and the diverse cultures of local ethnic minorities.
Located 2,000m above sea level, in the highest and most remote area among eight border communes in Phong Tho District, Si So Lau is around 100km from Lai Chau City.
More than 10,000 people have attended the Tourism and Culture Week hosted by the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau, which concluded in Sin Ho District on April 30.   
(TITC) - Lai Chau Tourism – Culture Week 2016 is expected to be held for the first time from 29 April to 2 May in Lai Chau City, Sin Suoi Ho Village (Sin Suoi Ho Commune, Phong Tho District) and Sin Ho Plateau.
