Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has directed the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang to complete a plan to transform Phu Quoc island into a special administrative economic zone.

Work has begun on the SolarMoon spa/resort in the island district of Phu Quoc, southern Kien Giang province. According to Huynh Van Manh, chairman of Nhi Hiep Company, the project's owner, his company will invest 29 billion VND (1.8 million USD) for developing the project on 10,000 sq. m of land.
