Over 1.55 bln USD to be poured into 19 tourism projects in central region

Over 36.1 trillion VND (more than 1.55 billion USD) will be invested in 19 tourism projects  in the central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Thua Thien - Hue, Binh Dinh and Ninh Thuan, and Da Nang City in the near future. 

The Quang Nam Culture, Sports and Tourism Department has just set up a Quang Region Cuisine Museum to honour local noodle dishes.
The central region of Viet Nam will play an important role in Viet Nam’s tourism development until 2020 and vision to 2030. But the regional tourism growth has not matched local tourism potential. Connecting tourist destinations is one likely solution.
It is necessary for the central and Central Highland regions to enhance connectivity, increase competitiveness, and build international-standard brands to obtain sustainable tourism development.
Various cultural and tourism activities will be held across the central region to mark the 41st anniversary of the liberation of South Viet Nam and National Reunification (April 30) and the 130th International May Day (May 1).
A conference was held in Hoi An city in the central coastal province of Quang Nam on March 31st to assess the results of the “Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Development” project in the Central region implimented over a year ago and discuss solutions for 2015.
Tourism remains an advantage of the central region in luring investors, but the regional localities need to increase mutual cooperation for better tourism promotion and investment attraction, said a local economist.
In the framework of the National Tourism Year of the North - Central - Hue 2012 Cuisine Festival in Central Region will be held by Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, Viet Nam Hotel Association and the Thua Thien Hue Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism at Hue Sports Centre from June 28-July 1.
The low cost airline Jetstar Pacific has said it will launch daily flights between the capital city and two tourism destinations in the central region – Danang and Nha Trang - to meet the increasing travel demand over the summer.
