Smart tourism - a lever to develop Hanoi’s non-smoke industry

The Hanoi Department of Tourism and the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group’s Hanoi branch (VNPT Hanoi) have worked together to carry out a smart tourism project with a view to promoting the capital city’s non-smoke industry.

Smart tourism is being applied in a number of tourist attractions in Ha Noi such as Bat Trang ceramic village, Thang Long imperial citadel, Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature - National University) and Ha Noi Old Quarter.
Joint works to promote smart tourism in the country since 2017 between the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) have produced positive results.
The central coastal province of Thua-Thien Hue, especially Hue City, is projected to become a smart tourist destination in the years to come, having invested in technology, infrastructure and relevant services based on a recently approved smart tourism plan.
Ho Chi Minh City has strived to tap into its tourism development potential, with the support of digital technology, as the city is Viet Nam’s leading tourism hub and an attractive destination for international friends.
Experts from the Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities (TPO) will visit HCMC for discussions about smart tourism on June 21. In addition, some 20 tourism operators in the region will come to Viet Nam in search of business opportunities and partnerships with local firms.
Saigontourist Holding Company (Saigontourist) and the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on October 24 signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly build smart travel solutions.
