– On March 24, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism had a meeting with relevant ministries to discuss about international tourism reopening plan. The plan is built in order to implement the direction of Prime Minister about reopening international tourism in the context of COVID-19 pandemic.

VNAT's Vice Chairman Ngo Hoai Chung chaired the meeting

Attending the meeting, the participants expressed their support to the reopening of international tourism in order to implement the dual goal of COVID-19 pandemic prevention while pushing recovery of the economy.

As a cross-sector industry, the recovery of tourism will be a driving force for the recovery of other industries, significantly contributing to the socio-economic development of Viet Nam.

Currently, many countries have been trying to control COVID-19 pandemic, and deploying mass vaccine rollouts, including Viet Nam. It is good condition to resume international travel and trade. However, this is a vital issue, it is necessary to study very carefully and will be deployed step by step to ensure safety.

The delegates also agreed to step-by-step piloting plan, in terms of choosing source markets, flight modes, selecting suitable destinations/products and qualified tourism service suppliers.
