Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu: Pushing sustainable development of community based tourism, harmonious benefits sharing and promotion of cultural values in Ninh Thuan Province

- On April 9, in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee organized Workshop on Community tourism development associated with implementation of tourism stimulus program 2021.

The workshop attracted the participation of many tourism businesses and experts, in order to discuss solutions to develop community based tourism in Ninh Thuan in new normal context.

Speaking at the workshop, VNAT’s Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu highlighted that community based tourism is an important type in Vietnam tourism development strategy. In rural region, there are many traditional craft villages, agricultural products together with outstanding landscapes of the sea, mountainous, plains, being favorable condition to develop community based tourism. Ninh Thuan shoud build community tourism destinations  beside urban and coastal tourism centers, contributing to expanding tourism routes  and prolong tourist  duration of stay.

In addition, community based tourism also contributes to sustainable development, bringing socio-economic benefits to rural areas such as contributing to creating jobs, increasing income for local people, in addition to preserving and promoting cultural values.

The Vice Chairman said that Ninh Thuan has favorable conditions to develop community based tourism. Therefore, the province should develop unique tourism products while ensuring sustainable development, harmonious benefits sharing; preserving and promoting cultural values of Ninh Thuan.

In addition, there should be programs to support skills training for local people; enhance  the application of information technology in promoting community based tourism in Ninh Thuan.

At the workshop, the Organizing Committee also introduced Ninh Thuan tourism destinations and tourism products and announced stimulus program in 2021.

The delegates also had a farmtrip to community tourism destinations associated with the exploitation of agricultural values in Ninh Thuan Province.
