Da Nang announces the 2022 tourism stimulus programme

- Recently, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism announced the 2022 tourism stimulus programme under the theme “Enjoy Danang”. Mr. Pham Van Thuy, Vice Chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) attended and delivered a speech at the event.

The programme aims to promote the image of a strong Da Nang city overcoming difficulties caused by the pandemic to continue to be a safe and hospitable destination to all domestic and international visitors.

The programme attracted the participation of over 200 tourism businesses with many attractive and unique product packages of favourable prices and professional service quality. With these products and services, Da Nang tourism industry hopes to bring visitors many interesting feelings and experiences when coming back to this land.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang City Department of Tourism, emphasised: To ensure the quality of the programme, the Department of Tourism will work closely with the Tourism Association to strengthen supervision of the service supply and will receive comments from consumers to perfect the programme in the coming time. Simultaneously, the Department of Tourism recommends tourism businesses to renew products, invest in new products, or prepare for human resources, technical facilities, ensure security and safety in service of visitors and promote the destination, especially strictly follow the directions of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the City People's Committee on resuming of tourism activities.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Pham Van Thuy, VNAT’s Vice Chairman, highly appreciated the efforts of the Da Nang City Department of Tourism in promoting and stimulating local tourism.

Mr. Thuy stated that, currently, in Vietnam, the pandemic is basically well controlled, paving the way for the recovery of domestic and international tourism activities.

He also asked tourism enterprises to maintain Covid-19 prevention while resuming business activities. Furthermore, it is necessary to focus on developing products in line with the changing market demands, tightening business cooperation linkages to improve competitiveness.

On this occasion, Mr. Thuy suggested that Da Nang promote linkages with localities in the Central Region as well as provinces and cities nationwide, form alliances to stimulate travel demand.

Regarding digital transformation, he also emphasised the need to promote digital transformation and application of information technology in the field of tourism, especially in tourism promotion and advertising.

It is also vital to pay attention to preparing tourism human resources in both quantity and quality, to support tourism businesses, especially to encourage creativeness in developing products. For the international market, active steps like preparing products, service capacity and improving competitiveness should be taken, Thuy added.

At the event, representatives of tourism businesses, airlines and affiliated localities signed a cooperation agreement to stimulate demand to restore Da Nang tourism.

At the event, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism has announced a series of attractive tourism stimulus packages for visitors when coming to Da Nang. In addition, they will be exempt from entrance fees into tourist attractions in the city such as Ngu Hanh Son Mountain, Museum of Cham Sculpture, and Da Nang Museum.
