Up to 250 foreign tourists on a flight from Japan’s Narita airport to the central city of Da Nang were welcomed as New Year callers on January 1.
The number of foreign visitors to Viet Nam has risen sharply during the 2014 New Year holiday as many provinces and cities across the country have offered attractive tourism services and incentives.

The Islamic Cham people in the central province of Binh Thuan officially launched a month-long festival to welcome their Ramuwan (New Year) festival on July 7.  
The ancient city of Hoi An will organise a lantern festival to greet the Lunar New Year on February 9- 16.
The Dong Van Stone Plateau in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang welcomed the first international visitors from France, the US and European countries on the first day of the Ha Giang Tourism Year 2013.
On the first day of the New Year, thousands of foreign tourists arrived in Viet Nam, promising a busy season for the country’s tourism sector in 2013.
Foreign tourists arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, on the first day of the New Year were warmly welcomed by Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, La Quoc Khanh.
