Authorities in the northern province of Vinh Phuc have rolled out a host of incentives to attract investment and make tourism a spearhead economic sector, with major and prestigious groups being sought to invest in areas ripe with potential but facing difficulties in changing their economic structure.

Over 36.1 trillion VND (more than 1.55 billion USD) will be invested in 19 tourism projects  in the central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Thua Thien - Hue, Binh Dinh and Ninh Thuan, and Da Nang City in the near future. 
The central province of Nghe An has attracted a great number of tourism development projects over the last four years, especially those in ecotourism, related to accommodation and infrastructure, and resort tourism. 
The ancient imperial city of Hue in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue has mobilised social sources to light up its streets and tourist destinations at night during weekends and holidays to lure more visitors.  
The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang welcomed more than 1.5 million tourists in the first quarter of this year, surging 3.7% against the same period in 2017.
The central city of Da Nang has called for investment in nine projects in tourism and entertainment worth an estimated 500 million USD during the APEC Economic Leaders' Week.
Localities in the Mekong Delta region have called for investment in 33 projects in the groups of real estate and tourism, with a total investment of nearly VND7.8 trillion (US$343.2 million), along with 45 other projects related to industry, agriculture, processing and logistics infrastructure development with a total capital of VND150 trillion (US$6.6 billion).
The southernmost province of Ca Mau is calling for investment in two tourism projects worth 1.2 trillion VND (52.7 million USD) in Dat Mui (Cape Ca Mau) tourism area in Ngoc Hien District, and along the Trem River in Thoi Binh District.
