Tailor-made training course for tourism officials in Malaysia

From 3 November 2013 to 1 December 2013, a delegation of twenty tourism officials from 20 Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism will participate in a tailor-made training course on Responsible/Sustainable Tourism in Malaysia.

This first 30-day course is implemented under the work plan of the EU-funded Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Programme (ESRT), aims to enhance and strengthen management capacity of provincial tourism administrators and also to develop human resources for the tourism industry in the long term. Two more training courses shall be delivered in the next annual work plans of the ESRT Programme.


Addressing the meeting of the delegation in Hanoi on 2 November 2013 before going to Malaysia, Mr. Dang Vinh Nham, Director of Personnel Department of Vietnam National Administrator of Tourism said that “Human resource plays an important role in the tourism industry in Vietnam, therefore we highly appreciate the great support from the European Union as well as the ESRT Programme on this activity to improve both skill and knowledge of our tourism officials”.


The training course will take place in Taylor University, Malaysia and focuses on the following topics: Responsible/Sustainable Tourism, Sustainable Regional/Spatial Planning in Tourism, Tourism Service and Quality Management, Product Development and Event Management in Tourism.
