This is the first time VNAT participates in a video conference with Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism using these new equipment, which help saving cost and improving operational efficiency.
According to a provision tender in 2013, the ESRT Programme provided essential equipment worth 700,000 euros to build capacity for VNAT and its agencies such as Institute for Tourism Development Research, Vietnam Tourism Certification Board, Vietnam Tourism Association, Tourism Information Technology Centre, Vietnam Tourism Review Magazine and Tourist Newspaper. VNAT officials were trained to use the provided equipment effectively.
The equipment provided by the ESRT Programme include: information technology specialized software (graphics, mapping software and satellite data), audio-visual equipment and air conditioning systems.
Additionally, in January 2014, the ESRT Programme will hand over a batch of equipment with a total value of 300,000 euros to five tourism schools’ practice rooms for training and evaluation, as well as ten community centres for developing responsible tourism practices.
