In this meeting, the presentations delivered by technical experts focused on the overview of the existing cooperation between three provinces, analysis and evaluation of the advantages and difficulties in tourism development in the region along with the technical assistance of the ESRT Programme, the participants agreed that it is very important to further strengthen three-province cooperation. Clearly, a closer cooperation makes a greater benefits for local tourism.

As a result, the Memorandum of Understanding in cooperation for combined tourism development of three Central Coast Provinces was signed by representatives of Da Nang, Quang Nam and Thua Thien – Hue People’s Committees. According to this Agreement, the content of cooperation for tourism development primarily focuses in four areas:

1. Develop policies and plans for local tourism management and development

2. Tourism product development

3. Tourism promotion and marketing

4. Tourism human resources development

This Agreement sets out the foundation to fully utilise tourism potential in each individual province and promote the regional sustainable tourism growth.
