The ESRT Programme is very delighted to introduce the Sector Profiles of the Vietnam Tourism Training Needs Assessment 2013. This survey was developed based on the situation and demand of current Vietnam tourism industry as tourism is an ever-changing sector in terms of customer expectations, markets, products, technologies and services.

The National Training Needs Assessment for the tourism sector in Vietnam provides up-to-date information of the skills and training needs of both public and private sector organisations and enterprises involved with tourism in Vietnam. Therefore, the survey was conducted through a suite of custom designed questionnaires and targeted interviews for the following sectors:

- Accommodation sector

- Tour operators and travel agencies sector

- Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism

- Departments of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism

- Attraction sector

- Tourism services sector

- Restaurant and Food sector

- Transportation sector

- Spa and Wellness sector

- Sport Tourism sector

- Nature Tourism sector

- Culture Tourism sector

- Craft and Retail sector

- MICE sector

- Tourism Vocational Training Schools and Colleges

This survey is also anticipating and interpreting how the wide range of changes that are impacting on tourism impact on the skills that are required across Vietnamese tourism.
