Present at the press conference were VNAT Vice Chairman Ha Van Sieu and representatives of VNAT-attached functional departments and agencies, representatives of ESRT Programme, Vietnam Tourism Association, Vietnam Airlines, tourism service businesses and a large number of national and international press agents.
At the press conference, Mary McKeon, Team Leader of ESRT Programme introduced policies and new tourism products of Viet Nam. Viet Nam tourism is defined as a spearhead economic sector in the national economy. In 2015, the Government of Viet Nam issued many important policies to facilitate entry visa procedures and improve the tourism environment, leveraging the development of tourism in the new period.
Vietnam has been emerging over the last few years as a world-class destination, bringing back many new, diversified and authentic experiences in culture, history and cuisine with world-class resorts for tourists. Viet Nam is voted by the Telegraph (UK) as “one of 20 top ranking destinations in 2014” and by the Wanderlust (UK) as “one of 10 world-leading destinations” and by the Forbes (US) as “the 3rd ranking destination in the 2015’ top ten”. Many destinations in Vietnam are ranked in the list of world-class destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, Hoi An etc …
Within the framework of press conference, a representative of Hochiminh City’s Department of Tourism introduced distinctive tourism products of Hochiminh City - one of the most vibrant cities in Vietnam that attracts 70 per cent of international tourists to Vietnam.
Many new policies and services of Vietnam Airlines were also presented at the conference, especially the launching of new two air crafts Boeing 787-9 and Airbus 350-900 to directly connect the Southeast Asia with the Europe. The change in visa policy of Vietnam was attributed as a marvelous opportunity for tourists to experience the new high-class aircraft service of Vietnam Airlines, enabling the increasing attraction of tourists to Viet Nam.
