The website is a direct reflection of ESRT research and industry feedback that indicates the majority of visitors to the Central Coast do not just stay in one province during their holiday, but instead also visit one or two other provinces at the same time.
In order to respond to these market dynamics, the website will cross-promote key tourism products and services across the three provinces, with the objective of not only responding to the actual needs of visitors when researching and planning their travel, but also to help spread the “tourism dollar” further by promoting the products of the other provinces and encouraging visitors to “go further”.
The destination website is being developed to be simple and easy to maintain and yet still reflect current standards in tourism destination electronic marketing. Although still in the early stages of development, it is anticipated that the regional website will include such information as “Places to see”, “Things to do”, “Food to eat”, and “Itineraries to inspire”.
A planning section will also include essential travel information such as visa regulations for international visitors, climate, transport and access to visitor information centres. The feasibility of incorporating access to an accommodation search engine will also be explored.
The Central Coast tourism website is expected to be launched in mid-2016.
