The Open ACMECS Ministerial Forum On Responsible Tourism was held on 3 September 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam in Conjunction with the International Travel Expo 2016 (ITE-HCMC 2016)

On August 17th, 2016, the conference “Vietnam: Towards Sustainable Tourism in the Era of Climate Change” took place with the aim to strengthen stakeholder engagement with tourism and climate change issues. The conference was organised by the ESRT Programme as technical support to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

Following a collaborative process facilitated by international tourism experts from the ESRT Programme which is funded by the European Union, the three Central Coast Provinces namely Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam and Da Nang have unanimously chosen a destination umbrella brand with the theme "The Essence of Vietnam".

The ESRT Programme is delighted to introduce the Technical Report on Tourism Manpower analyses in three Central Coast provinces Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam in 2015.

A new tourism destination website is currently in the throes of development in the Central Coast of Vietnam. The website is a next step in the implementation of a regional approach to developing and marketing the three provinces of Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam as a stand-alone tourism destination.

From March 1st to 3rd, 2016, the first training course on Strengthening Management skills for Vietnamese 4-5 star hotels was held in Quang Ninh with the participation of 20 Vietnamese hotel managers in the province.

On January 28th, 2016, representatives of nearly ten international donor agencies gathered in Hanoi in a roundtable meeting on coordination for Vietnam tourism industry. The initiative was led by ESRT Programme as technical support to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

On September 26th, 2015, at Hoan Kiem Lake, the Celebration Meeting of the World Tourism Day 2015 with the theme “One billion tourists, one billion opportunities” was held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) with the technical support of the ESRT Programme.
